Focal Points for the Proliferation of Jewelry Culture
GSTV Gemological Institute and GSTV Museum

We employ the use of cutting-edge technology to accurately assess the characteristics, origins, sources, and quality of gemstones. An abundant collection of prehistoric crystal specimens is on display to convey the exquisiteness of gemstones. GSTV will continue to be a vital source for the proliferation of jewelry culture.

GSTV Gemological Institute

As well as traditional gemological methods, gemological identification and origin determination is based on a variety of state-of-the-art techniques, including spectral analysis using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy and chemical analysis using tools such as Energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and laser-ablation ICP mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). Our team of skilled and talented gemologists makes use of the latest technology, accumulating advanced expertise and scientific knowledge in gemology.

  • GSTV Gemological Institute's
    proprietary certificate of authenticity

We conduct meticulous and advanced appraisal techniques to certify the quality and determine the origin of gemstones. We deliver precise information about each gemstone to our customers by issuing individual certification documents which include gemstone assessments and origins.

  • GSTV Gemological Institute ChiefDr. Ahmadjan Abduriyim

    Doctor of Science, FGA
After obtaining his PhD in mineralogy from the Division of Earth and Planetary Science at Kyoto University, Dr. Abduriyim served as Chief Researcher at the Gemological Association of All Japan and launched the GIA Tokyo lab in 2012.Currently, as president of Tokyo Gem Science and head of the GSTV Gemological Laboratory, he provides technical support for gemology research, educational seminars and gemological identification. Dr. Abduriyim is one of Japan's foremost gemologists in the field of research and identification of gemstones.

GSTV Gem Museum

The exhibition showcases valuable materials assembled by Dr. Akira Chikayama, a leading gemologist in Japan.
GSTV endeavors to pass Japanese jewelry culture and history on to future generations.
